Calling all time-travellers, aeronauts and steampunk enthusiasts!
Prepare your goggles and ready your airships. A day of retro-futuristic wonder awaits at Britain’s ultimate iron marvel – Bennerley Viaduct
Learn about the history and stories of The Iron Giant, including the 1916 Zeppelin raid, whilst taking in the panoramic countryside views in the heart of the Erewash Valley.
- Recently rescued by a grassroots group of Friends, and reopened to the public for cycling and walking, this giant monument straddles the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, with intricate lattice work and beautiful natural surroundings.
- Walk along the new ramp and deck!
- Please consider donating generously to keep our project growing. We accept digital qr code scanning payments, but please use cash where you can so we retain full value. Cheques are also welcome.
Practical details:
- Walks start at 10am and 12 midday – visit our Eventbrite website via the links below to book your tickets.
- Each walk lasts for approximately 90 minutes.
- The walk is relatively easy, access onto the viaduct is up an accessible ramp but the viaduct decking is flat.
- We always welcome dogs but they must be kept on leads at all times!
