In March, the Friends of Bennerley Viaduct were delighted to install our pop up exhibition at Erewash Museum, in Ilkeston, and host a series of related events.

Lord-Lieutenants of both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire cut the ribbon to mark the restoration and opening year of “the Iron Giant”, at event attended by hundreds of local people.

The work programme has been temporarily suspended whilst the Covid 19 lockdown is in place. The work will recommence when it is safe to do so.

Plans to re-open Bennerley Viaduct after 50 years of closure are given the green light by Broxtowe and Erewash Borough Councils.
